My friend, Dorian Hill, and I have been trying to figure out how to start his YouTube channel for just about a year. About a week or so ago, we finally got together and filmed my first [official] interview on YouTube, and his first YouTube video. In this collaboration, we decided to go to Fresh & Meaty, a local burger joint on the Los Angeles/Inglewood border.

Fresh & Meaty is one of South Central's quintessential burger places. It is simple, down-home goodness that is cherished by the community that surrounds it.

California is filled with mom & pop burger joints named Tommy’s, Tom’s, Tom’s Jr, Tam’s or some variation thereof. They all serve Breakfast Burritos, but only Slater’s 50/50 decided to make a burger out of one!

The Breakfast Burrito Burger is Slater’s 50/50’s May 2015 Burger of the month. The flavors combine to create a taste and profile that reminds you of a traditional style breakfast burrito that you would get from one of South Central Los Angeles’ many Tom’s, Tam’s, Golden Ox, or Fabulous Burger locations. The burger overall is good, and true the the inspiration of local South L.A.

If you can make food in the hood of Los Angeles without being shot, you may very well have a quality product. This stands true at A&T Burger in South Central. The burger place has a 30 year history in the community, and the locals love it. It is a favorite to high school student at Locke High School, and the residence of the area. Simple and delicious.
