The #Excesstasy Burger: A Flavorful Orgasm

Indulge in #EXCESSTASY!

Some people prioritize healthy eating. Others, like myself and Slater’s 50/50’s executive chef Brad Lyons, value exceptional food more.

The New Year often brings gym memberships, diets, and fitness resolutions that rarely last past Valentine’s Day. With the Affordable Care Act in full effect, health and wellness are hot topics. However, I don’t think that’s the case at Slater’s 50/50. The #Excesstasy Burger and Ice Cream Excesstasy Sandwich defy the word “healthy.”

The #Excesstasy Burger, January 2014’s Burger of The Month, epitomizes excess. The most striking feature is a Bacon Grilled Cheese Sandwich within the burger. It also boasts a 100% all-natural beef patty, arugula, garlic tomato confit, a 100% ground bacon patty soaked in bone marrow butter, white cheddar cheese, a fried duck egg, Southern Comfort-soaked onions, and house-made 1000 island aioli, all nestled in a brioche bun.

This burger promises orgasmic pleasure. It combines unique ingredients in a way that’s visually stunning and delivers an explosion of taste, leaving you wanting more. The #Excesstasy Burger is the Jessica Rabbit of hamburgers.

If Jessica Rabbit were real, few men would know where to start; the same applies to this burger. After admiring its presentation, I was eager and slightly overwhelmed. I removed the knife holding it together, took off the top bun, and slid out the yolk-soaked bacon grilled cheese sandwich. The first bite was crispy and toasted, with the gooey combination of egg yolk, cheese, bacon, and bread rivaling any grilled cheese. I enjoyed the rest of the burger. The duck egg, garlic tomato, onions, arugula, and dressing added flavor to the beef patty. The grilled, bone marrow-soaked bacon patty was the highlight, delivering an intense and satisfying climax of flavor.
