Orleans & York surprised me with their Louisiana Burger. I knew beforehand that there would be a Louisiana smoked sausage in it, but what I expected was a split sausage. However, the strips of sausage were thin and delicious.

Many times I will eat a burger, and admittedly feel sluggish afterwards. Though there are instances when I am energized and refreshed. The Federal Burger at the Federal Bar in North Hollywood gave me a delightful relief, and feeling of life.

The California Breakfast Burrito Burger at Slater's 50/50 was a great way to have an all-day breakfast in burger form. Well, Scott Slater has outdone himself with January 2016's #BOMNation Burger, The French Toast Benny Burger. It is an open face burger with a runny sunny-side up egg, a 100$ sausage patty, chipotle sauce, and a syrup glazed sour dough french toast under bun.

My relationship with Red Robin is fresh, and new. Like any new relationship it is filled with hope, joy, and temperance. On this week's episode of The Burger Crawl, I try Red Robin's Southern Charm Burger, which I keep calling the Southern Comfort Burger because when I think Southern, I think whiskey. LOL. Annually, Slater's 50/50 has their Thanksgiving Burger for the month of November. In 2013 I wrote a blog describing my first experience with the burger, and it is wonderful to see that much has not changed since them. They [sadly] removed the mash potatoes, but that is a fight I will have to pick with Scott Slater himself. If you are reading this Mr. Slater, I would like to have a word with you my friend.

I would to say I have had everything the culinary world has to offer, but I have not. For the first time I try a Chicken burger patty, and it was astounding it. The entire experience was light, refreshing, and enriching. Upon completing the Russian-spiced Double Chicken Burger at DOMA Kitchen I felt alive, and eager to get on with the rest of my day. Unlike a beef or heavier meat burger, this burger truly gave me life.

I absolutely love Asian food. I think I have said that many times, but if the point has not yet been driven home…IT MUST BE KNOW BY ALL OF THE INTERNET THAT CUE LOVES ASIAN FOOD. I love burgers too, but my absolute favorite food is Asian, in that tone, I have searched and searched to have a Asian-fusion burger that is really good and holds true to the values and elements of Asian cuisine. When I went to Hopdoddy to film for the first time, I did not know what to expect. What I received from my first bite of the K-Town Burger was astonishing and mind-blowing. As of this episode of the burger crawl, The K-Town Belly Burger at Hopdoddy is my favorite Asian-fusion burger.

The Cinnamon Crumb Fried Chicken Burger at Chomp Eatery in Santa Monica, has Pumpkin Spiced aioli. That has been the focus of the media coverage over this sandwich. However that is not my focus. My question and concern is whether or not this "burger" is a burger at all? In my humble opinion a burger can use just about any meat, but to qualify as a burger, said meat must be ground and formed into a patty. This is a very good, and well executed fried chicken sandwich, and all the flavors work together to create an experience worth trying.

The Cinnamon Fried Chicken Burger is available through the month of October 2015, and possibly will be extended, but I would not count on a extension, get your's today!

The Hamburger ["burger"] sandwich is, indubitably, a sandwich; though a sandwich is not always a hamburger. I come from the school of thought that a burger patty is a ground meat formed into a patty then grilled, charbroiled, or fried in a skillet. I believe that the term burger is a cooking and preparation technique as well as a type of food. Thereby the Cinnamon Crumb Fried Chicken Burger at Chomp Eatery is without a doubt, a fried chicken sandwich!

I wrote a blog in March 2014 where I criticized the executive chef of Slater's 50/50 (Brad Lyons at the time) by stating, very publicly and very unapologetically, that an Asian-fusion burger was his Achilles' Heel. Shortly after that I was presented with the opportunity to appear on an episode of Travel Channel's Food Paradise (Hot & Spicy Paradise 2 – Season 5, Episode 4) where they were featuring some of the hottest foods around. In that episode Slater's 50/50 served me the hottest burger I've had to date, The 50 Alarm Burger.

After my appearance I wrote another blog recapping the experience, and held to my guns despite the pain that was inflicted on me, and the victory granted to my friends, Scott and Brad.

Scott Slater recently asked me for my verdict on this month's Burger Of The Month, the Asian Cheesesteak Burger, and to him I answer with this video.

Taking recommendations for The Burger Crawl may be one of the best things I can do. Earlier this year a subscriber recommended Hopdoddy Burger Bar to me, and at the time they were only located in Texas. A couple months later, I took a trip to Fry's Electronics in Manhattan Beach, CA; and noticed a sign that said Hopdoddy across the street. I was pleasantly surprised, though disappointed that I do not have to travel to Texas to try Hopdoddy. On today's episode I try the Buffalo Bill Burger. Which I must say, was pretty good, but not as good as a future episode of The Burger Crawl.
