At some point recommendations will be the life-blood of this channel, and I encourage that. There are many burger places around the world that I desire to try, and it will from the advise of my viewers that I find these places. For the time being, I will relay on my friends. On this week's episode of The Burger Crawl I am joined by Steve Gossett (http://stevegossett.com/). Steve is the producer who works alongside Whitney Avalon to make the YouTube channel Princess Rap Battle happen.
Steve is a resident of Van Nuys, CA., and once he found out I eat burgers on YouTube he insisted that I try Outlaws Cafe. Outlaws Cafe is a western-inspired burger restaurant in the valley that holds no punches or surprises. Enjoy this week's episode as Steve and I enjoy our food.
Outlaws is on Van Nuys Boulevard at Delano, with a country-western theme. I got the Outlaw Burger, a full pound, and Steve got the half-pound Bandido. You get unlimited chips or steak fries, regular, garlic or hot, so we got one of each and mixed them.
Don’t cut it. It’s a Juicy Lucy, stuffed, so it falls apart if you do. The bottom bun is sturdy enough to hold up, which is rare with a burger this size. The patty is seasoned with real heat, it’s loosely packed and juicy all the way through, and every bite was a surprise: bacon inside, blue cheese, mushrooms. It was dripping down my arm.
You can’t alter the burger, like Father’s Office, so don’t ask for ketchup or mustard. They also give you complimentary spicy brownies with a lot of cinnamon. I don’t like chocolate, and I loved them. They’re moist, like an old-school gingersnap that stays with you. The Outlaw is twenty dollars. It’s a treat-yourself burger, not an everyday one. Check their hours, because I drove up once on a Monday and they were closed.
