A 1987 BMW 325i with California License Plate: CUE49 was my most prized possession from the Summer of 2007 until 1 March 2010. I remember the day my love was taken from me as if it were this in this moment; en route home, I drove along the surface streets of Los Angeles towards Westchester [where I lived, at the time]. I travel up a slight incline on Centinela Ave.
The hamburger is a popular food staple amongst foodies. They are prepared many ways but one worth noting is Hodad’s. The meat is juicy and dripping. It can be argued that the most important element in a hamburger is the fixings. Well, how about bacon? Not just any bacon though, Hodad’s tops their burger with melted cheese, fresh veggies and what I would like to believe to be the holy grail of bacon, a full bacon-weaved patty. This bacon patty is the size of the meat and just barely fits inside of the toasted bun. It is simply amazing. If bacon is not enough to impress you, let me tell you about the onion patty [everything’s a patty on this burger]. Many of us cry when cutting onions because they are so fresh, despite that I have never cried when eating an onion. As you take your proper burger eating stance, two-hands holding, elbows out, mouth open and CHOMP, the freshness of the onion fills your eyes with tears. Your mouth is watering, eyes teary and taste buds are doing your favorite party dance in your mouth. For any true burger enthusiast, Hodad’s is far above par.
Their combos are served in baskets with your choice of onion rings or fries. On this particular visit, I choose onion rings. The outside batter is crisp while the onions are sweet and juicy.
