A few days after my first stop, I was back in Emporia, Kansas, and back at Spangles, because I couldn’t stop thinking about those fries. This time I got the bigger cup, and they were still fantastic.
I switched the main to a turkey club on sourdough: turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo, with lettuce falling everywhere. I picked it thinking it’d be lighter than a burger, and I liked it better than the parmesan burger from my first visit.
I went back for the orange slush too. This time it was a Tequila Sunrise with an extra shot, sealed up in a plastic cup. It wasn’t too sweet, you could taste the tequila, and it was cold. After a long day, that was right.
I’d go back to Spangles a third time.
