Tom's Urban is a chain restaurant founded in Denver, CO with an additional locations in Los Angeles. In this video FreakEating's Nader and I face off in a 5 minute eating challenge. We have 5 minutes to eat as many of Tom Urban's breaded frog legs. The frog legs are apart of their new Beat the Clock Happy Hour menu. Unlike Nader, I have had frog legs before, and I truly enjoy them. I disagree that they taste like chicken though. They remind you of a chicken wing tip, but they are distinctly different in taste. I believe that taste is more similar to that of alligator, or some other white meat fish. I had The Yorker Burger which is basically like a deli sandwich with a burger patty on it. It is very clean and healthy. A food festival should give you an anticipation for the event. On this week's episode of Meeting Cue Anthony, I attend Los Angeles Times' The Taste. The Taste, in opinion, is the culmination of Los Angeles' summertime food festival season, which starts with The West Coast Barbecue Classic in May. Both of which are my favorite food festivals of the year. The Taste happens on the weekend before Labor Day, and is held on the backlot of Paramount Pictures. Slater's 50/50's August 2016 Burger of the month is the Pickled Hog. It is a burger inspired by a young lady known as Warrior Princess Phia. Keeping with tradition, the August burger at Slater's 50/50 is a charity burger. This year's charity is Sons of Charity out of California. They are raising money to benefit children with pediatric cancer. Princess Phia, a child suffering with cancer had the opportunity to go to Slater's test kitchen, and create a burger. Slater's 50/50's July 2016 Burger of the Month is the 'Merica 3.0 Burger. It features a 100% Ground bacon patty, bacon American cheese, BBQ spiced bacon, a Frank's Red Hot Sauce dipped hot link sausage, sriracha bacon slaw, bacon baked beans, bread & butter pickles, onion strings, and honey mustard served on Texas Toast. I enjoyed the burger up until the point where the salt from the bacon patties overwhelmed me. Despite the ding I gave the sandwich in the video, it should be noted that I ordered the 2/3lb, which has two full 100% bacon patties instead of one. So basically what I am saying is that the ding is kind of my fault because I added an extra patty that would not have normally been there. Burgerim is an international burger chain with over 200 franchise locations around the world. Their newest location grand opens 14 July 2016, yes this Thursday.
