I had never eaten at Potbelly. I’d seen one in Beavercreek when I first moved to Ohio, but it took a layover at Tampa International, waiting on a flight to Cincinnati, to finally try it.
I got The Works as a wrap: ham, turkey and a few other meats, with lettuce, tomato and pickle. The guy at the counter double-checked that I wanted the hot peppers, and after one bite I understood why. Those peppers have a real kick.
Heat aside, it was a really good sandwich, better than I expected from an airport.
One more thing from that layover: someone asked for The Burger Crawl to come back. Something’s in the works.
