Every Christmas I eat roast duck. It’s my version of the Jewish Christmas, duck and Chinese food and a movie marathon. In Dayton, the only place I’ve found that roasts duck is the Far East Center, an Asian grocery store with a counter in the back. They chop it fresh and bag it, juices everywhere.
For the rest, I went to Dragon City in Huber Heights: General Tso’s chicken, beef and broccoli, and pork with mushrooms. It’s the American Chinese food you already know, and it was good.
The duck was the point, though, and it was phenomenal. I pregamed on it at room temperature while everything else warmed in the air fryer, between Die Hard movies.
A question for Ohio: in California, chow mein means noodles. Here it comes as rice, and lo mein is the noodles. Which one’s right?
If you know another place in Dayton that roasts duck, tell me. The Far East Center is good, but it’s a drive.

Some meals here are on me, some are hosted. Either way, it is disclosed and the score is mine. If this helped you decide where to eat, a coffee helps keep it going.
