One box. Two servings: At Best!
I’m a kid’s cereal enthusiast. Always have been, probably always will be. The only “adult cereal” I eat is Honey Bunches of Oats, mainly because it’s as sweet as “kid cereals.” My top two are Apple Jacks and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, which is ironic since I’m not a big pastry person. I love pie, but not cake or cake-like things, except for cinnamon rolls.
Last week, my consumer awareness class took a grocery store trip for a project. Most of it was boring and useless to me since I eat out almost every day. As we browsed, I spotted a glorious-looking box in the cereal aisle. The colors and the words “Cinnamon Roll” caught my eye like a shooting star. I immediately texted a photo to a female friend who acts like my mom, begging her to let me buy it.
A few days later, I finally bought the enticing box. Arriving home around midnight, I took pictures and prepared a bowl. The aroma reminded me of Grandma’s freshly baked cinnamon rolls. I savored the moment before adding milk.
Remember Cinnamon Toast Crunch? It’s great, but as a kid who ate cereal by the boxful, I admit it was too sweet. This cinnamon roll cereal is similar but not as overpowering. It has a cinnamon roll flavor, but it’s a hint, not an overwhelming pastry taste. Like other Cap’n Crunch cereals, it’s a bit rough on the roof of your mouth, though not as brutal as the original.
The cereal is good, but I probably won’t buy it again. It’s not my style. I prefer sweeter cereals like Apple Jacks, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, and Crunch Berries.
Quaker Cap’n Crunch’s Cinnamon Roll cereal is like what Kix should be: mildly sweet, flavorful, and approved by both parents and real kids.

The box fascinates me. I don’t really like brown as a color but there is something about the box that captures the eye and yields a yearning desire to have this cereal. Sucky part though, if your kids are anything like me when I was a kid, they may not like the cereal. Please understand, clearly, the cereal is GOOOD. It’s not sweet-tooth lil’ kid good, though..it’s like a less “healthier” version of Kix.

You can really see the cinnamon. It’s pretty and like the image here, there is a hint of it in the taste. It’s not so overbearing to where you as a parent could not serve this to your kids in good conscience.
